EVENTS & NOTICES FOR YOUNG ADULTS:

We are looking for 12 adults to serve as Confirmation Mentors starting this school year:---->>>> To be a mentor means to be “an experienced and trusted advisor.”  Those who would like to serve in this role would be confirmed, practicing Catholic parishioners of St. Stephen, who are at least age 18, and have completed VIRTUS child protection training. 

What is expected of a mentor?  Each mentor will ENCOUNTER a small group of around 6 teens this year, getting to know them and journeying with them through their confirmation be in touch at least sessions as well as once a month via email or phone call.  Then, following the celebration of the Sacrament next year, mentors are asked to ACCOMPANY these teens for the next 4 years of high school, faith and the life of checking in with them regularly, and inviting them to be full, active, conscious participants in their our parish.  What is the expected outcome? That everyone will grow in their love of Jesus, their faith, and approach Confirmation as a crucial point along the life-long journey of discipleship!  Contact Kellie Reynolds by October 31 if you are interested.  First opportunity to meet the candidates will be in November. 410-592-7294 or kreynolds@archbalt.org.

11/05 Every Tear Wiped Away: Vespers for families who have lost children to miscarriage. All are welcome. 7pm – 8pm at St. Mary’s Seminary & University, 5400 Roland Ave, Baltimore.

11/10 Come view Activism and Art: The Catonsville Nine, 50 Years Later and the other exhibits at the Maryland Historical Society. Lunch and conversation will follow at Mt. Vernon Marketplace. Attendees are responsible for their own museum admission and lunch. Admission is as follows: Adults, $9; Seniors $7; Students with ID, $6; Children 3-18, $6; Children under 3, Free. All are welcome, please RSVP to Rachel at rachel.a.malinowski@gmail.com.

11/10  Project Rachel - Come to the Waters of Healing: is a one day retreat, focused on healing after abortion. CTTW is a wonderful day filled with spiritual exercises that bring those suffering closer to God and help them to experience the love and mercy that Jesus provides to help heal the wounds of abortion. Event is 9am – 5pm. 11/18 Holiness: What is it, What it isn’t, and How to See it Grow! So many people speak about "holiness." What does authentic holiness look like? How can WE be holy? Can we really be as holy as the saints we revere? Come to Mass at the Basilica at 10:45AM on Nov. 18 and then, immediately after the Mass, go to the undercroft chapel for a talk titled "Holiness: What It Is, What It Isn’t, and How to See It Grow?"This talk will be give by seminarian Patrick Walsh, and it is for everyone...no matter where you are in the spiritual journey!  Approx Noon  - 12:45 for talk only.

12/01 GIVEN: Unveiling the Mystery of Marriage, a retreat for dating, engaged, or married couples. It includes excellent talks, good music, an opportunity for Reconciliation, and Adoration. Featuring the ministry team of Matt and Stephanie Regitz. Babysitting available. Young Adult Monthly Service Project – First Sunday of the month We are looking for volunteers!  Join us at the East Side Family Shelter in Rosedale once a  month to cook & serve a meal. Each volunteer helps provide groceries.  Have a day of the month in mind? Contact Kellie for details kreynolds@archbalt.org

Coupons in Flight: Usually meets on the first Sunday of the month (Oct - May) at 9:15 in the Art Room, located on the 2nd floor of the school.  Bring your coupons or help clip those that were donated.  Coupons expired up to 3 months still accepted.  Most needed items are baby products, food, personal care. All coupons will be donated to miliatry families stationed in bases overseas. Thanks for your support!

ODB Casseroles: You can easily support the ongoing ministry of Our Daily Bread by making and freezing a casserole at home. The recipe can be found online, or you can pick up a pan and recipe in the back of the Church or Hall.  Did you know ODB serves over 800 meals 365 days a year?  Thanks for supporting this ministry!
