Monthly Lunches for the Clients at Weinburg Center

Our Lady, Queen of Families Rosary Guild
Will resume on Saturday, September 8th   (2nd Saturday due to Labor Day weekend).  The guild usually meets on the first Saturday of the month during the school year, 9am – 10am, in the Library/Learning Cottage. 7/21 Women’s Retreat: Hosted by St. Joan of Arc, Aberdeen.  8:30am – 2:30pm with Sr. Geralyn Schmidt, SCC from the Diocese of Harrisburg. Presentations include Eucharistic spirituality, Blessings of Being a Woman, and Feminine Sacrificial Love.  Coffee, refreshments, and lunch provided!  Please RSVP or request more info by emailing parish@stjoanarc.org with “Women’s Retreat” in the subject line.  To register, please include your name & contact info in the body of the email.

Camp GLOW Companions Needed - there is a need for companions age 18 and older at Camp GLOW (God Loves Our World), a week-long residential camp for persons with disabilities sponsored by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. 7/16 Hershey Park! Join youth from the Harford Area Catholic Churches for a day at Hershey Park. We will depart from St. Francis de Sales at 8am and return there at approx 10pm.  Cost is $55 (cash) & we must have a minimum of 4 people to participate. Seating on the bus is limited! Quo Vadis: for young men who want Christ and the Church to be part of his life.  Join your peers to understand more deeply each of our call to holiness and to live out fully our particular vocation.  July 19-22 at Mount St. Mary’s University. 7/30–8/3 Summer Mission Experience for High School Youth: If you are entering grades 9-12 in Fall of 2018, or have graduated high school in Spring 2018, we invite you to set aside some time to serve our brothers and sisters on the margins right here in our neighboring Baltimore City.  Housing will be at a Catholic parish, and worksites include the Weinberg Housing and Resource Center, the Clothing Bank of Delaware, Little Sisters of the Poor, and more! Cost is $150 per person, but please do not let inability to pay deter you from registering! If you think you would be interested in attending, and would like to reserve a spot, please contact the youth ministry office at stephenyouth@hotmail.com or 410-592-7294 by July 15.  Space is limited.  A full schedule & packing list will be posted on the youth ministry page of the website.

Get Ready: 8/10 Guppy Gulch: 10am - 3pm. Cost is $22 per person which is the entrance fee, please bring your lunch & drink, some snacks will be provided.  Transportation not provided, so please meet there.  Note: There is a swim test all participants must take, which determines what areas of the lake you may enter.  Chaperons needed.

Get Ready: 08/14-15 Middle School Community Workcamp will be held at St. John, Long Green Parish.  Join us for two days and one overnight of community service!  We’ll be working at various service sites over the two days, have a pool party, and celebrate our call to serve through prayer.  Cost is $20 to offset cost of meals. Space is limited and adult “Virtus” trained/registered drivers are always needed.  If you are interested in attending, please fill out a permission form from our website and return it to the Youth Ministry office by Aug 5.

Faith Formation

Students entering grade 8 this Fall: If you were contacted about completing the formation for grade 7 “Visions” over the summer, your packet is ready for pick up in the Parish Center.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Robin Urbanski at 410-592-7294.

Re-registration forms for Fall 2018 have been mailed to current families, and are due back to the Parish Office by July 31 OR SOONER. Please help us plan best for next year by turning in your paperwork as soon as possible.  Classes are held from September through April on Sunday mornings for grades PreK through 8th and Tuesday evenings for 7th grade – High School. The following guidelines apply in order to register early childhood students:
PK 3 children must turn 3 years old by 09/01/2018 and be potty trained.
PK 4 children must turn 4 years old by 09/01/2018 and be potty trained.
Kindergarten children must turn 5 years old by 09/01/2018 and be potty trained

We are looking for volunteers for our catechetical team!  Please contact Sr. Angela or Pam if you feel called to resound the Good News and share your faith with the next generation!  410-592-8666.

New to our parish? Families who have recently joined our parish and would like to register their child for Faith Formation can contact Pam Franke at 410-592-7294.

The guidelines from the Archdiocese of Baltimore require that a student MUST have regular attendance in Faith Formation for one year prior to AND the year celebrating each/any Sacrament in a Faith Formation Catechesis program or at a Catholic School. If you are interested in more information or would like a registration form, please contact Mrs. Pam Franke at 401-592-8666.

Confirmation Orientation Packets for 2020 are available for pick up in the Parish Center until July 31.
